A small single-hall regional museum in the Leningrad Oblast town of Novaya Ladoga, dedicated to the general Alexander Suvorov (1730-1800) — one of the defining Russian military commanders of the 18th century. Suvorov commanded the Suzdal Regiment based in Novaya Ladoga in the 1760s, and drafted his 'Regimental Establishment' — the manual that codified his approach to training and discipline — during his time here. The single-hall exhibition is designed as an atmospheric 18th-century evocation rather than a large collection: period maps of the town, tabletop games from the era, and light sound design. Novaya Ladoga is about 130 km east of Petersburg on the Volkhov River near Lake Ladoga — a day trip by car; a serious detour if you're staying in the city. In Russian.
