An exhibition at the Sheremetev Palace (Fountain House) — the 18th-century central-Petersburg aristocratic residence on the Fontanka — dedicated to the working process of theatre designers. Produced by the Museum of Theatre and Musical Art. The show is presented as an immersive installation rather than a straight display: full-scale fragments of designers' studios, large-format photographs, and original artefacts give a picture of what the profession actually involves. Exhibits include personal effects, working tools, archive documents, sketches, posters, models, textiles and costumes. The Sheremetev Palace itself is worth the ticket — one of the more atmospheric surviving 18th-century Petersburg aristocratic interiors.
