Alexander Martsinkevich and Kabriolet — Russian Gypsy Show
About
A concert programme by Alexander Martsinkevich and the ensemble Kabriolet, titled Russian Gypsy Show, marking the artist's anniversary. Martsinkevich works within the Russian Gypsy song tradition — narrative, sentimental, driven by strong melodic lines — and the programme runs through his established repertoire alongside newer material. Programme is a family New-Year-season concert: love, everyday life and Russian-language folk-influenced popular song. At the Lensovet Palace of Culture on the Petrogradskaya Side.
Bureau's take
A specifically Russian gypsy-song tradition evening. Best for visitors already following the genre; recognisable Russian pop context for those who aren't.
