Police Station is a central-Petersburg jazz bar with a nightly live jazz programme covering the range from mainstream to Manouche (French gypsy jazz) to Dixieland. Line-up includes both Russian and touring international jazz musicians. Notable resident and featured performers include Mikhail Chernov on saxophone, vocalist Alexandra Shakina, and the Mikhailovsky pair Yuliya and Alexander. The bar is set up as a proper jazz club — small stage, close audience, focus on the music rather than incidental atmosphere. Language load is very low; jazz doesn't require Russian.
