About
A theatre piece at KDTs Moskovsky about Daniil Kharms — the Soviet avant-garde writer whose absurdist miniatures were suppressed in his lifetime and became a cult reference after 1988. Kharms died in a Leningrad psychiatric ward in 1942; the show puts him back on the streets.
Bureau's take
Kharms is one of the strangest and most important 20th-century Russian writers. The show is closer to a series of miniatures than to a biography — the right form for the subject.
