A stage adaptation of Vladimir Gurkin's Love and Doves — a play widely known in Russia through the 1984 Vladimir Menshov film adaptation, whose lines have entered the everyday language. The story follows the Kuzyakin family, whose head Vasily is caught between his provincial doves-and-family life and a holiday-resort affair with the actress Raisa Zakharovna. The tone runs from comedy to melodrama in the classic Russian kitchen-realism register: forgiveness, love, family.
