My Brodsky: Solo Show
About
A one-person show at the Podval Brodyachey Sobaki (Stray Dog Cellar) art café devoted to Joseph Brodsky — the Leningrad-born Nobel-Prize-winning poet, expelled from the USSR in 1972, dead in Brooklyn in 1996, arguably the greatest Russian-language poet of the second half of the 20th century.
Bureau's take
Brodsky is a specifically Petersburg subject; the Stray Dog is arguably the most historically resonant small cabaret in the city. The pairing is close to definitive.
