About
A staging of A. R. Gurney's play Love Letters at the Jazzberry restaurant. The play — one of the defining works of American two-hander drama — is built as an epistolary structure: Melissa and Andrew, who know each other from early childhood, exchange letters across a lifetime. Their differences and their deep understanding hold each other in tension across the years. As the correspondence unfolds, the play asks whether the characters will recognise in time what their letters have been saying — a question the audience often sees before they do. Emotionally direct staging with strong two-handed acting. In Russian; language-heavy epistolary drama.
Bureau's take
A serious two-hander drama in a restaurant setting. Language-heavy — for visitors comfortable following dialogue-driven theatre.
