A children's show at Legenda Theatre based on Alexei Tolstoy's 1936 Russian adaptation of Pinocchio — The Little Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino. In Russia, Buratino is a native character rather than an import: a shaped, wooden Pinocchio-with-a-Soviet-childhood who has starred in his own decades-long tradition.
Bureau's take
Buratino is a specifically Russian pleasure. Tolstoy's adaptation is arguably better structured than the Collodi original; the show trusts it.
