About
Ken Ludwig's Broadway comedy Leading Ladies at the Liteyny Theatre. Two out-of-work Shakespearean actors travel to Pennsylvania to trick an old lady out of her fortune — and end up in drag, playing her supposedly long-lost English nieces. Two acts of well-engineered farce.
Bureau's take
Ludwig is one of the great comic engineers of the modern American stage; Leading Ladies is one of his tightest plays. The Liteyny keeps the door slams in the right order.
