About
An immersive experience at Lenfilm — the historic Petersburg film studio, founded in 1918 and one of the two defining Russian studios of the Soviet era. The project puts visitors into the recreated environment of a Second World War cinema-crew journey, drawing on the real stories of studio workers, front-line correspondents and soldiers who served during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945). The route is staged across several episodes running from Leningrad to Berlin, using preserved studio equipment and period reconstructions. The point is to show what film-making actually looked like when the crews were following the front rather than filming on a stage. In Russian; the physical environment and film clips carry a significant part of the substance.
