About
A one-audience-member audio play at Fiddler's Green bar on Rubinshteina Street. Format: the visitor takes a seat at the bar, is served a pint of chilled Belhaven ale, and puts on headphones. What follows is an hour of Bukowski's own voice — the old man reflecting on his life at a bar, delivered as if the visitor is his drinking partner. The material draws on Bukowski's own writing and biography. The specific bar setting — an actual working Petersburg pub — makes the audio into a physical situation rather than a podcast. About 60 minutes. In Russian; Bukowski's Russian-translated poems and prose are the substance.
