Duma Tower Observation Deck
About
The observation deck of the Duma Tower on Nevsky Prospekt — the 19th-century City Duma (municipal council) building — is open to the public daily from 10:00 to 22:00, with entries at half-hour intervals. The climb is 233 steps and 47 metres. The reward is a panoramic view over the historical centre: the Kazan Cathedral, Nevsky Prospekt end-to-end, the Fontanka and Moika, and the Admiralty spire. Better than most centre-of-town observation points because you are on Nevsky itself, not off to one side. Nearest metro: Nevsky Prospekt / Gostiny Dvor, directly beneath. Bring warmer clothes; it is windier at the top than at street level.
