The Snow Queen (Andersen)
About
A New Year staging of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy-tale The Snow Queen at the Vasilyevsky-Island Youth House. Family programme aimed at children and their parents. The story follows Gerda's journey to rescue her friend Kay from the Snow Queen's ice kingdom, meeting the Little Robber Girl, the Reindeer, and the other Andersen figures on the way. The final scene brings the seasonal Ded Moroz meeting into the tale. In Russian, but the reference points are widely known internationally through Andersen's original text — children who know the story will follow.
