Bulanova is one of the more distinctive voices of 1990s Russian pop, known for melodic ballad writing and a specifically Russian vocal register; her material sits at the intersection of estrada, romance and mainstream pop. The debut Bulanova / Letny Sad concert took place on 16 April 1990; their early albums — 25 Gvozdik (1990) and Ne Plach (1991) — became widely popular, and both remain in the current programme.
