About
A stage version of Dostoevsky's 1872 novel Demons (Besy) at Masterskaya. Dostoevsky's ferocious political novel about a provincial Russian town undermined by a small cell of nihilist revolutionaries — one of the four great novels and, arguably, the most prophetic of them. Adult audiences.
Bureau's take
Demons is Dostoevsky's most politically pointed book and one of the most disturbing novels in world literature. Any serious staging carries that weight; Masterskaya's version does.
