About

A stage version of Alexander Blok's 1918 revolutionary poem The Twelve (Dvenadtsat') at the Mariinsky Theatre. Blok's specifically final major work — twelve Red Army soldiers march through the snowy streets of revolutionary Petrograd, and Christ appears at the head of the column. One of the essential poems of Russian modernism.

Bureau's take

Blok's The Twelve is a specific piece of Russian literary history. A serious literary source.
