Adolphe Adam's ballet Le Corsaire performed by the Primorye Stage of the Mariinsky Ballet — the Mariinsky's Vladivostok company — on tour at the Mariinsky. The Corsaire — the story of Conrad the pirate, his beloved Medora, the great pas de deux and the shipwreck finale — is one of the most beloved of the 19th-century Russian repertoire pieces.

The Primorye Stage of the Mariinsky is a serious company in its own right. Their Le Corsaire is a proper full-scale reading; a good evening for anyone who wants to see the great classical repertoire in a slightly less well-known reading.
