Summer — a poetic drama by the Petersburg company Theatre Project 27, exploring escape, avoidance and the difficult work of accepting the present. Set in late autumn as winter approaches. Central character Liza is a fourteen-year-old girl who lives with her mother, has no obvious problems at home or school, and feels lost anyway. One day Liza skips lessons and steps out of her ordinary trajectory. The play follows what happens. Theatre Project 27 works in the contemporary poetic-drama tradition of Russian theatre — small-cast, text-heavy, psychologically detailed pieces. In Russian; language load is high.
