Meyerhold
About
A biographical drama at the Open Space Theatre about Vsevolod Meyerhold — arguably the most influential Russian and Soviet stage director of the 20th century, executed on Stalin's orders in 1940 after two years of NKVD interrogation. One of the great martyrs of European theatre history.
Bureau's take
Meyerhold's specifically constructivist theatre practice remains one of the founding traditions of modern European stagecraft. A serious biographical piece.
