About
A stage version of Alexander Ostrovsky's 1868 comedy Even a Wise Man Stumbles (Na vsyakogo mudretsa dovol'no prostoty) at the Liteyny Theatre. Yegor Glumov — the young Moscow careerist who keeps a diary of his own insincerities — is one of Ostrovsky's sharpest satirical creations. Two acts.
Bureau's take
Ostrovsky at his most ferocious. Any decent contemporary reading makes clear the play has never gone out of date.
