About
August Strindberg's 1887 Swedish drama The Father at Subbota Theatre. The Captain and his wife Laura, and one of the sharpest chamber tragedies of European naturalism — a specifically Strindbergian portrait of a marriage falling to pieces. Two acts.
Bureau's take
Strindberg's The Father is one of the great chamber tragedies of the modern European stage. Subbota is a serious small independent room; the pleasure is in the ensemble.
