About
A stage version of Chekhov's 1892 novella Ward No. 6 at MDT (Maly Drama Theatre / Theatre of Europe), led by Lev Dodin. Chekhov's story of the provincial doctor who ends up on the wrong side of the door in his own asylum is one of the sharpest political parables in Russian literature. Adult audiences.
Bureau's take
MDT is arguably the most important repertory theatre in Russia. Ward No. 6 is late-Chekhov at his coldest; Dodin's company is the right instrument for it.
