N. Richard Nash's 1954 American play The Rainmaker at the Molodezhny Theatre on the Fontanka. In a Depression-era Kansas farming family, a mysterious stranger arrives promising to end the drought — for cash — and shakes the household's specific idea of what a woman is worth. Two acts.
Bureau's take
Nash's Rainmaker is one of the small classics of the mid-century American stage. A serious repertory reading.
