The Path of Raskolnikov — immersive theatrical project
About
An immersive theatre project by Igor Larin at Monplezir Theatre, adapting Fyodor Dostoevsky's Crime and Punishment. The piece explores questions of human and superhuman nature, rebellion and repentance in the specific Petersburg atmosphere that shapes the novel. The project runs in two parts. Part one is a street theatrical walk — a promenade through the actual streets of the novel — with actors playing scenes at the specific locations. Part two continues at Monplezir Theatre with an indoor immersive component. In Russian; the physical route through the actual novel settings is a substantial part of the substance for visitors familiar with the book.
Bureau's take
One of the more ambitious immersive-theatre projects in Petersburg — Crime and Punishment in the actual novel-geography streets. Recommended for readers of Dostoevsky.
