Retro — Alexander Galin comedy at Lensovet
About
Alexander Galin's lyrical comedy Retro at the Lensovet Theatre. Central character: Nikolai Chmutin, an elderly widower whose grown children set out to arrange a match for him — with results that both age and unexpected circumstance make more moving than the framing suggests. The play is one of the late-Soviet Russian repertoire staples; the Lensovet staging is a serious revival. In Russian; language-heavy.
Bureau's take
A late-Soviet Russian repertoire staple at the Lensovet Theatre. Language-heavy — for Russian-fluent visitors.
