About
A comedy at Masterskaya — one of the most consistently interesting small dramatic houses in the city. The title character is a specific Russian archetype: the small-scale local hustler whose eternal optimism carries him through improbable disasters. Two acts.
Bureau's take
Masterskaya is where several of the strongest current Petersburg actors work. The character piece rewards the ensemble's close-focus playing.
