About
Vadim Samoilov — co-founder of Agatha Kristi, one of the defining gothic-rock bands of late-Soviet and post-Soviet Russian rock — plays a solo concert at the Ledovy Dvorets (Ice Palace) arena in Petersburg's Prospekt Bolshevikov area. The set is drawn from the Agatha Kristi back catalogue — 'Kak na Voine', 'Skazochnaya Taiga', 'Opium dlya Nikogo' and their kin — alongside Samoilov's later solo material. Full band, standing floor, seated tiers, Ice-Palace scale. For non-Russian speakers who know the band, the songs carry themselves; for visitors unfamiliar with the material, this is a way to see one of the more distinctive figures of the Russian rock scene at close to full concert scale.
Bureau's take
A large-format Russian-rock evening from a founder of the Agatha Kristi canon. Nostalgia programme for those who followed the band, but a reasonable introduction for those who did not.
