About
Leonid Zorin's 1967 chamber drama Warsaw Melody at Teatralnaya Dolina. A Russian soldier and a Polish singer meet in Moscow just after the war; the marriage law that separates them turns a private love story into a small piece of political history. Two acts.
Bureau's take
Zorin's play is one of the small classics of the Soviet-era romantic drama. The two-hander format asks for actors who trust each other; a well-cast production is unusually moving.
